A very positif outcome to the 1er editon of “A Sunday in Dézaley”

On October 27th, Un Dimanche en Dézaley attracted numerous visitors to the enchanting setting of Dézaley in Lavaux, a vineyard listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This immersive experience, designed to highlight Dézaley Grand Cru wines and the region’s heritage, offered the opportunity to meet passionate winemakers, taste their wines, and learn more about the unique characteristics of this exceptional terroir.

The partnership with Lavaux Vignoble en Terrasses provided crucial support for the event, mobilizing around ten volunteers and organizing a free “pedibus” service synchronized with public transport, making eco-friendly access to the site easier. Four heritage guides accompanied visitors along the route, sharing insights into the history and practices of this terraced vineyard. Additional collaborations encouraged the use of public transport to access the site, including partnerships with the Lavaux Panoramic and Lavaux Express tourist trains.

Beyond wine tastings, this event raised public awareness about best practices for preserving this extraordinary environment. A warm and convivial day that seamlessly combined the discovery of Appellation Dézaley Grand Cru wines, heritage, and respect for the site!

Thank you participating and see you next year !

Autumnal hiking in Dézaley

The Appelation Dézaley Grand Cru lies right in the middle of Lavaux. “This UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007 is a cultural landscape shaped by the hand of man since the 11th century. This vineyard of 10,000 terraces, criss-crossed by wine trails and dotted with winegrowing villages, retains its authenticity and integrity, offering an architectural heritage of exceptional richness and diversity.” (https://www.montreuxriviera.com/fr/Z13279/lavaux)

For vineyard and wine enthusiasts, autumn in Lavaux is the ideal season: it’s the time of the grape harvest, of new wine, a very special moment for this terroir that is celebrated by countless fêtes des Vendanges, but also in the vineyards and cellars by the families and teams of grape-pickers who celebrate the end of the wine-growing year.

Our association brings together some fifty producers of wines from the Dézaley Grand Cru appellation, and their cellars are booming at this time of year, so don’t hesitate to stop by on your autumn strolls through Dézaley.

Looking forward to your visit, we wish our member winemakers an excellent harvest.
