Walking is the best way to immerse oneself in the beauty of Dézaley. The winemakers in the appellation area have made a lovely and easy loop that takes about 1 hour and 50 minute, featuring five metallic framed entryways. So many emblematic place names, spots that offer sublime viewing points which look out over the lake and the Alps, where you can discover these exceptional vineyards that are suspended between the Earth and sky.
The itinerary is easily reached on foot from the CFF/SBB rail stations in Cully, Epesses, Chexbres, Grandvaux and Rivaz. Or why not go to Cully and Rivaz by lake, on one of the sumptuous old CGN steamboats from the Belle Époque ?

Eine Wanderung durch die wunderschönen Rebberge ist die beste Art, um sich von der Schönheit des Dézaley verzaubern zu lassen. Von 5 Metall-Pforten aus haben die Winzer dieses AOC Grand Cru-Gebietes einen Rundgang jaloniert, den man in ca. 1h50 bequem abschreiten kann. Auf dem Weg durch dieses aussergewöhnliche Weinbaugebiet zwischen Himmel und Erde kommen Sie an symbolträchtigen Orten vorbei mit einer grossartigen Sicht auf den See und die Alpen.
Der Ausgangspunkt Ihrer Wanderung ist einfach zu erreichen: Entweder ab den SBB-Bahnhöfen von Cully, Epesses, Chexbres, Grandvaux und Rivaz, oder, warum auch nicht, an Bord eines der romantischen Belle Epoque-Raddampfer der CGN (= Genfersee Schifffahrtsgesellschaft) von den Landungsstegen von Cully oder Rivaz..
Aujourd’hui à pied, franchissez les Portes du Dézaley
La marche à pied constitue la plus belle manière de s’imprégner de la beauté du Dézaley. Les vignerons de l’appellation ont balisé au moyen de 5 portes métalliques une jolie boucle facile d’environ 1h50 de marche. Autant de lieux-dits emblématiques pour découvrir ce vignoble d’exception entre ciel et terre, offrant de sublimes points de vue sur le lac et les Alpes.
Cet itinéraire est facilement atteignable à pied depuis les gares CFF de Cully, Epesses, Chexbres, Grandvaux et Rivaz.
Et pourquoi ne pas rejoindre Cully ou Rivaz par le lac à bord d’un somptueux vieux vapeurs Belle époque de la CGN?

From the train station in Cully follow the yellow hiking trail signs for “Terrasses de Lavaux” on the north side of the rail tracks, heading in the direction of Vevey. After a few hundred metres the path begins to climb. Below the village of Epesses, you cross the trail that leads to the Epesses train station. Carry on straight along the Chemin du Calamin, which quickly takes you to the first door, Porte 1, which marks the intersection of the Chemin du Calamin and Chemin du Dézaley, the only two AOC Grand Crus in Canton Vaud.
From Rivaz (reached by the CFF rail station or the CGN dock) you climb to the village, up to the central Place; when you have found the school and its bell, you head west. After a small descent, over the bridge that crosses the Forestay stream, you climb again to the entrance to Dèzaley, where the Chemin du Dézaley and Chemin de la Dame meet (Porte 2). You also have the option to rejoin Porte 2 from the Vinorama, where a lovely staircase will take you to the departure point, going along the Forestay and its waterfall – at times quite powerful.
We recommend that you use good protective creams and make sure you have enough water to last you the length of your walk!
Vom Bahnhof Cully aus folgen Sie, nördlich der Geleise in Richtung Vevey, den gelben Wanderweg-Schildern «Terrasse de Lavaux». Nach ein paar hundert Metern steigt der Weg an. Unter dem Dorf Epesses überqueren Sie den Weg, der zum Bahnhof Epesses führt. Gehen Sie geradeaus weiter auf dem Calamin-Weg, der Sie rasch zur Pforte Nr. 1 bringt, welche die Grenze zwischen dem Calamin und dem Dézaley markiert, den beiden einzigen AOC Grand Cru des Waadtlandes.
In Rivaz (vom SBB-Bahnhof oder dem CGN-Landungssteg) gehen Sie das Dorf hinauf bis zum Dorfplatz. Wenn Sie beim Schulhaus mit seinem Glockentürmchen angekommen sind, zweigen Sie nach Westen ab. Nach einem kleinen Abstieg erreichen Sie eine Brücke, welche den Bach Forestay überquert. Hier geht es bergauf bis zum Dézaley, an der Kreuzung der Wege des Dézaley und «la Dame» (Pforte Nr. 2). Die Pforte Nr. 2 können Sie auch via das Vinorama erreichen, wo Sie eine hübsche Treppe zu Ihrem Ausganspunkt bringt. Dieser Weg ist entlang des Baches Forestay mit seinem manchmal tosenden Wasserfall angelegt.
Die Weinberge des Lavaux verdanken ihre Berühmtheit den «drei Sonnen», welche die Reben bescheinen und erwärmen. Die erste Sonne ist die des Himmels, die zweite ist die Rückstrahlung des Sees und die dritte ist jene der Steinmauern, welche in der Nacht die tagsüber gespeicherte Wärme den Reben zurückgeben.
Wir empfehlen Ihnen deshalb, sich mit einer Sonnenschutzcrème auszurüsten und für die Wanderung genügend Wasser mitzunehmen!
